Outpatient health resort treatment does not include accommodation, while inpatient treatment includes accommodation at the health resort.
You are entitled to health resort treatment for medical conditions defined as indications in Article 45 of the OZZ (Compulsory Health Insurance) rules if the health resort treatment is expected to restore functional abilities (Article 44).
Indications for health resort treatment:
inflammatory rheumatic and systemic connective tissue diseases
degenerative rheumatism
locomotor system injuries and operations
neurological and neuromuscular diseases
cardiovascular diseases
gynecological and urinary diseases
skin diseases
gastrointestinal diseases
respiratory diseases
oncological diseases
Contraindications for health resort treatment:
severe mental disorder or personality disorder due to which the insured person is unable to actively participate in health resort treatment
toxicomania or chronic alcoholism
poorly controlled epilepsy
infectious disease in an epidemic state
chronic organic disease in the phase of acute deterioration
frequent and heavy bleeding
cancerous neoplasm that has not been surgically removed or otherwise stopped from growing
pregnancy
more severe forms of generalised atherosclerosis
unhealed wounds
smoking while suffering from respiratory diseases
In case of refusal of inpatient or outpatient health resort treatment (with referral), you can choose between various rehabilitation packages with or without accommodation (self-paid treatment).
