We are working on a project to renovate Grand Hotel Toplice, Bled’s most elegant and iconic hotel; one with almost 90 years of tradition. In renovating this one-of-a-kind hotel, our priorities are sustainability and honouring the tradition reflected in various details of the property. We will preserve these original, unique elements that date back to the time when the hotel was built, only modernising them slightly.

Health Resort Zdravilišče Radenci

The second set of rooms at Hotel Radin will be renovated, paying tribute to the four healing factors that nature has provided so abundantly: mineral water, thermal water, mild climate with plenty of sunny days, and fango mud. After the makeover, the rooms will reflect these healing factors in a contemporary style.

Energy renovations, Sava Hotels & Resorts

After the installation of solar power plants at most of our resorts, completion of the energy and environmental overhaul of the boiler room at Grand Hotel Bernardin, St. Bernardin Resort Portorož, and the overhaul of the boiler room at Grand Hotel Primus, Terme Ptuj, energy-related renovations will continue in 2026. As part of the complete overhaul of the boiler room at Hotel Histrion and Hotel Vile Park, St. Bernardin Resort Portorož, for hot sanitary water and heating throughout the complex, the LPG system will be replaced with a heat pump. This will complete the process of reducing our carbon footprint by eliminating the use of fossil fuels and installing solar power panels on the roofs of all buildings in order to power the heat pump. The comprehensive renovation of Grand Hotel Toplice will also include an energy overhaul.

Energy renovations Sava Hotels & Resorts

In 2024, the Grand Hotel Bernardin boiler room was given an energy and environmental overhaul, replacing oil-fired furnaces with water-to-air heat pumps. This means that 90% of heating and cooling is now powered by electricity and energy from the sea. In 2024, we will also refurbish the boiler room at Grand Hotel Primus in Ptuj, replacing the majority of the machinery powered by fossil fuel (natural gas) with a heat pump that uses thermal water energy and electricity for heating and cooling. The comprehensive renovation of Grand Hotel Toplice will also include an energy overhaul.

Alternative energy sources at Sava Hotels & Resorts

In recent years, we have implemented several energy-saving investment measures – i.e.
energy renovations of buildings, such as thermal envelopes, replacement of builders’
joinery, and renovation of energy systems – which have an impact on energy savings. In
recent years, we have implemented a number of energy-saving measures as part of a more
sustainable operating concept (energy-saving light bulbs, tap aerators, waste compaction).
These measures, all of which are of course sustainable and economical, do not negatively
affect the comfort of our guests. In the long term, we will focus on the introduction of new
alternative energy sources such as solar energy for hot water and the additional use of
geothermal energy, an area in which we have already made the biggest steps.

Installation of solar power plants

In 2023, we completed the installation of solar power plants at Health Resort Zdravilišče Radenci, and in
2024 we will continue with the installation of solar power plants at the St. Bernardin Resort in Portorož (on Hotel Histrion and Hotel Vile Park). In 2024, we started the energy renovation of the heating and cooling system of Grand Hotel Bernardin, replacing the old cooling and heating systems with modern energy-saving ones. The focus is on harnessing the energy of seawater with state-of-the-art heat pumps. At the beginning of 2025, we will install solar power plants on the facilities in Terme 3000 - Moravske Toplice.

Hotel Termal – Renovation of the Hotel Restaurant, Terme 3000 - Moravske Toplice

At Hotel Termal in Terme 3000, guests are now welcomed by a refreshed hotel restaurant, adorned in natural color tones. A special highlight of the restaurant’s interior is undoubtedly the attractive hanging lights, featuring a unique element of local craftsmanship – the traditional Prekmurje technique of straw or corn husk weaving.

Part of the rooms – specifically 54 rooms of Hotel Termal – received a refreshed look in 2025, continuing the story of its unique thermal bath, centered around the harmony of energies and natural elements. In the renovation, we drew inspiration from the story of our beneficial thermo-mineral water, the four fundamental elements of nature, and the energy of four different crystals – clear quartz, purple amethyst, pink rose quartz, and black hematite. The 54 renovated rooms tell the story of two crystals: rose quartz and hematite.

Two new waterslides in the Terme Ptuj Thermal Park

In 2024, the largest waterslide system in Slovenia received two new, even more colourful and adrenaline-filled slides, which will surely impress even the most demanding water fun enthusiasts! The first is a yellow-orange slide that we named Aquatube, a completely enclosed, twisted vortex of fun. The second is an attractive slide which is made with all the different colours of the other slides in the water park, and which we named Sphere. You slide down it on air cushions because of the sphere – a space where the bather spins and turns and returns to the sliding part – and it is the only waterslide of its kind, not only in Slovenia but also in the broader region.

New slides for summer fun In Terme 3000 Thermal water park

The thermal water park Terme 3000 – Moravske Toplice, which for many years has been ranked by bathers as one the best large water parks in Slovenia, got two new waterslides in 2024. The first, a curved slide with an extra attraction and natural lighting, which is a safe and suitable water fun choice for all age groups, and the second, a slide consisting of 4 adjacent slides, which are ideal for competition and fun for all family members, even the youngest.

To make the experience of bathing at the Terme 3000 thermal water park complete, we renovated the entire bathing platform. Our youngest bathers are sure to be delighted by the new park with fun sprinklers and exciting water games, which will provide refreshment on hot summer days for children.

Construction of a reinjection well

Every year at Terme 3000 – Moravske Toplice, we pump nearly 1 million cubic litres of thermal water for our swimming pools and for heating. The underground pool from which this water is drawn has plenty of water, and the water level is not dropping. However, in order to ensure this for future generations, we have decided to return some of the pumped water to the depths of the earth, to ensure that future generations can enjoy the beneficial effects of our black thermo-mineral water without hesitation.

Hotel Livada Prestige – renovation of the wellness centre with world of saunas

Having completed the renovation of the rooms and the bathing complex in Hotel Livada Prestige in 2022, we are starting the renovation of the wellness area and its world of saunas in 2024. For this renovation, we will use as many natural materials as possible in order to round off the strong connection the elegant 5-star Hotel Livada Prestige shares with the local environment and the rich tradition of the Prekmurje region.

The renovation of Hotel Livada Prestige’s rooms was completed in 2022. The rooms were refurbished in a modern style, which aims to create a cosy atmosphere and facilitate well-being and even more comfort for guests. For the renovation, we used sustainable materials and included a unique element of our handicraft tradition in the interior design – Prekmurje straw and corn husk weaving.

At Apartments Prekmurska vas, we upgraded the interior during the first half of 2021, with more modern, comfortable materials offering a better experience for our guests. Finally, we also refreshed and upgraded the apartments’ terraces, making them more pleasant for enjoying nature in the fresh Prekmurje air.

Ajda Restaurant

In 2019, we completed the renovation of the hotel restaurant at Hotel Ajda, which continues the story of buckwheat, the underlying theme of Hotel Ajda. The renovation brought new freshness to the restaurant, as well as magnificent views of Prekmurje’s nature and of the golf course, modernity, a grand terrace to enjoy the Prekmurje sunshine, more seating for guests, and a separate buffet with local culinary delights.

Mobile homes

In July 2020, we completed the renovation of the entire mobile home village at Camping Terme Ptuj, which is modern, natural, and open to nature. The mobile homes offer guests a free and simple stay in nature, with close proximity to the thermal park and a wide range of activities in the surrounding area. They are suitable for both families and couples. The mobile home village will be surrounded by a grove of lavender, which is so characteristic of Terme Ptuj, as it was used for health and well-being by the ancient Romans more than 2000 years ago.

In February 2020, we opened the renovated indoor and outdoor saunas at the thermal park, and in June 2020, we completed the renovation of the bathroom block at the campsite, which includes new washrooms, bathrooms, and a dishwashing room.

Health Lounge

In June 2019, Health Resort Zdravilišče Radenci renovated its drinking lounge, where guests can draw CO2-rich mineral water from the spring. We have transformed this area into a Health Lounge – a relaxation space dedicated to taking care of your health, and allowing you to experience unique moments while drinking our mineral water.

In 2018, Hotel Ajda renovated its bathing area, where buckwheat inspired the furnishings through lights, colours, and murals, and pillows filled with buckwheat husks. We added a larger children’s pool with playground equipment, a bath with black thermal mineral water, and two massage pools to complement the main pool. Everything is furnished with natural materials.

Health and Well-being Bridge

Since 2017, the renovated indoor thermal park of Terme 3000 – Moravske Toplice and the hotel complex have been connected by a glazed, wooden, heated Health and Well-being Bridge. Guests can walk from the hotel to the thermal park in a bathrobe and relax with the scent of herbs from the Prekmurje fields.

Indoor Thermal Park Terme 3000

Renovated in July 2017, the indoor thermal park of Terme 3000 is a modern and welcoming space where wood and gravel blend into a natural ambience. The space is divided into two parts: the lower part is lively and family-friendly, and the upper part is for rest and relaxation, and includes saunas.

Completely renovated in 2015, the Termal swimming pool complex is a harmony of water, earth, fire, and air that boosts health and restores energy. The ambience allows you to connect with these elements while enjoying the vibrations of the crystals, the colours of light, the saunas, and the pools. The rotating cube at the entrance symbolises inner balance.

In 2016 and 2017, Hotel Ajda underwent the two-phase renovation of 134 en suite rooms, and of the lobby, reception, and bar. Each room offers interesting stories about buckwheat, and pillows filled with buckwheat hulls to promote relaxation and well-being. The story of buckwheat, which has been growing in the fields of Prekmurje for 500 years, is integrated into the guest experience. All of Hotel Ajda’s services focus on guests’ health and on a connection to buckwheat.

In 2019, we renovated 14 houses, comprising a total of 54 units. These charming wooden houses were inspired by the traditional thatched-roof Prekmurje houses known as “cimprače”. The new houses will have thatched roofs, but unlike the “cimprače”, they boast plenty of light and comfort. The ground floor living area with a terrace is a perfect setting for unforgettable family moments. After a day filled with adventure, you can rest peacefully in the upstairs bedroom on pillows filled with buckwheat hulls.

Renovation of Živa Sauna World - Rikli Balance Hotel****

Živa Sauna World, located in the heart of Bled, has been given a refreshed look and transformed into a haven of complete relaxation and balance. Guests can now enjoy six modern saunas, a selection of curated sauna programs, and unique experiences such as a Finnish sauna with a view, a sensory shower with chromotherapy, and refreshing Kneipp therapy in a wooden tub. The renovation also introduced a refreshment corner offering tea, water, and fresh fruit, rounding out the wellness experience.

The premium luxury Camping Bled pitch is perfect for families who want an unforgettable holiday in harmony with nature. The property has a surface of 200 m2. It is equipped with a canopy under which there is a wood-fired hot tub, a terrace, and a lounger. Part of the area is paved with sand and part of the pitch is grassed.

We have built 12 wooden huts (9 with private baths) for those who want to escape to nature. Made of organic larch, the huts offer a comfortable night’s sleep among nature. The surroundings, marked by alpine vegetation and wooden bathtubs, promise a unique form of relaxation.

We have built 4 modern and aesthetically designed family mobile houses surrounded by greenery on the edge of the forest. Slightly elevated, they offer beautiful views and privacy for guests. They are built of wood and natural materials, are breathable, and each has a large glass panoramic window.

Rikli’s Relaxation Park, which we built in 2019, is located next to the Rikli Balance Hotel. Here you can slow down the pace of life and enjoy a few moments of well-being. Reduce your stress levels and worries by walking on Rikli’s barefoot path, trade in your everyday problems for nature’s green embrace, hug a tree, and restore your health. You can also relax on the rocking chairs and benches.

Cafe Park

Bled’s Cafe Park will enchant you with its new look! The spruce wood, found in nearby Pokljuka, adds a homely and local touch. The large glass walls offer a spectacular view of the lake, the island, and the castle. The renovation has transformed Cafe Park into a modern space that is both locally coloured, and tailored to the global guest.

The renovation of the hotel with the largest conference premises in Bled was inspired by the concept of Arnold Rikli (who founded a natural healing resort in Bled in the 19th century) and the tradition and history of the local environment. The playroom at Hotel Histrion has undergone a colorful renovation and now offers even more fun for our youngest guests. In the brand-new Billy’s Corner, children can freely create, explore, and play in a safe environment under the supervision of their parents. The renovated space includes new play equipment, a creative corner, and a wide selection of toys for all ages. The new playroom encourages imagination and joy, providing an unforgettable experience for children of all ages.

The gaming room at Hotel Histrion is a new attraction for all video game enthusiasts – from teenagers to adults. The space is equipped with modern gaming consoles, multiple gaming stations, and a wide selection of games to suit every taste. The gaming room offers a comfortable and relaxed environment for both solo and group play, as well as socializing with peers.

In 2025, we completed the refresh of the interior of the well-visited and popular Grand Cafe at Grand Hotel Bernardin. The renovation was carried out in a warm, modern, and comfortable style, creating a space where our guests can feel at ease while enjoying their favorite coffee, tea, dessert, or signature gin and tonic.

In 2023, we completed the renovation of 66 rooms in Villa Galeja and the outdoor pool, drawing inspiration from the characteristics of Istria. In 2024, we continued with the renovation of Villa Nimfa and Villa Orada. The renovation of all three villas is a continuation of the Hotel Histrion renovation story, which brings to life authentic Istrian themes. The rooms in Villa Galeja tell the story of lavender, the rooms in Villa Nimfa reflect the story of olives, and the rooms in Villa Orada embody the story of the sea and salt.

In 2022, we renovated 66 Premium 3-star rooms and the pool at Villa Galeja with a design inspired by the Istrian experience. In 2023, the renovation of 75 rooms in Villa Orada is planned, continuing the Istrian theme. This renovation will position Hotel Vile Park, together with Hotel Histrion, as part of the seaside family resort Istriana. Guests can also enjoy the new pool and the Arkade restaurant.

Apartments Salinera***

In 2022, we renovated 68 Salinera apartments, located in terraced holiday homes by the sea and in close proximity to the Strunjan Landscape Park and salt pans. The completely renovated apartments, which include a living room with beds, a kitchenette, a bathroom with shower and a terrace or balcony, tell a story of sea, salt and sun.

We have renovated the Commercial Street in the St. Bernardin Resort Portorož, which is a continuation of the renovation project of the Histrion Hotel, the Villa Park Hotel, the beach and the Commercial Street, which will form the Istriana Resort after the renovation. The renovation will give the street a much nicer look, as well as a walking and cycling path, olive trees and utility connections for the owners of the restaurants.

In June 2020, we completed the renovation of the Histiron Hotel, which included 276 hotel rooms, the Termaris Sea Water Park and the Benedicto Wellness Centre. The rooms tell the stories of Istria, and in the spacious lobby of the hotel, you are first greeted by the walls of the dry-walled construction, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Site, which is characteristic of the Istrian environment, as are the Istrian skurs, which also adorn the renovated lobby. We have enlarged the connected rooms for families, modernised the reception, bar, restaurant and corridors.

In addition to the hotel, the Sirena, Palma, Korala and Perla depadances have also been renovated. The renovation is in line with modern hotel trends, following the family standard of living.

The Haliaetum Hotel was renovated in May 2019, including 78 rooms, a swimming pool, reception, restaurant and bar. We added 10 rooms, increased the capacity to 252 guests and renovated the outdoor areas: the Bistro restaurant, the waterslide, the pier and the mini golf course. This complements the family-friendly offer at San Simon Resort.

In April 2018, we completed the renovation of the rooms at the Grand Hotel Bernardin. The modern, sophisticated interior offers functionality and direct sea views. The interior design is minimalist, with warm tones and golden details to symbolise the sunshine in the sea. The rooms have also been renovated with new carpets and plumbing, with the addition of room controls to save energy.
