Sustainable tourism

At Sava Hotels & Resorts, we want the best for our guests and our planet, and shape our offer accordingly. The latter is prepared in accordance with the Strategy for the Sustainable Growth of Slovenian Tourism, which emphasises green, healthy, active, and sustainable. Sustainable measures in our accommodation facilities help reduce CO2 emissions. We strive to reduce water and energy consumption, use degradable and environmentally friendly materials, and encourage waste reduction and separation.

Because we care

Throughout the Sava Turizem d.d. group, the quantity of organic waste has been reduced by approximately 50% in the last five years. We utilise renewable energy sources, and our chefs use local Slovenian ingredients. Hotel Park and Park Café in Bled are in the process of obtaining the Green Key certification, while for several years now, Hotel Savica Garni in Bled has been a proud holder of the EU Ecolabel and regularly implements the in-house Green for Tomorrow project, which encourages visitors to gain new knowledge at our hotel on what they can do at home to contribute to a cleaner environment and thus conserve nature.

New reality in tourism

The world is changing, and with it so is tourism. People want to feel safe and carefree on their holidays, and thus want to spend as much time as possible in the pristine nature which surrounds the majority of our resorts. At Sava Hotels & Resorts, we work hand in hand with the local community, as we want to offer our guests authentic experiences.

Under the banner of local special characteristics

At Terme 3000 – Moravske Toplice, you can sample 50 dishes from Prekmurje and sleep on pillows filled with buckwheat husks, and in Hotel Park and the Rikli Balance Hotel in Bled, spruce wood from Pokljuka embraces you in your rooms and you are served delicacies made from honey from the Gorenjska region. At all of the destinations, we work with local food suppliers, and our offer regularly includes visits to local sights, tourist farms, and other local adventures that offer the guests an authentic experience of the destination.

The digital future is here

In 2020, tourism services providers digitalised our services even more. Printed promotional materials have been replaced by digital ones, and guests receive information mainly in the virtual world, which enables us up-to-date communication at any given moment in time. Online tools, especially social networks, allow us to answer our guests’ questions and stay in contact with them, while meetings with business partners have also moved to the virtual world and now take place at virtual trade shows and seminars.

Tourism is all about people

Tourism is entering an era that requires new knowledge and new approaches, and we look forward to helping to shape this newly defined tourism reality.
Finally, despite digitalisation and because tourism is all about people, we have not forgotten about genuine human relationships and smiles, ensured by our more than 1,500 employees, who share our vision of tourism and help bring changes to life at all of our destinations.
